Cwm Taf University Health Board was established in October 2009 and provides primary, community, hospital and mental health services to almost 300,000 people living in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Ideally situated between Wales’ capital city, Cardiff to the South and the stunning scenery in the Brecon Beacons National Park to the North, we operate within a vibrant community, rich with history and heritage.

As the second largest employer in the area, we employ more than 8,000 staff, more than 3,000 of which are nurses.

We are a highly successful health board. One of our proudest achievements is gaining a 96% patient satisfaction score in the fundamentals of care audit – testament to the hard work of our staff and their ongoing commitment to our philosophy Cwm Taf Cares.

High quality patient care and effective engagement with local communities is of the upmost importance to us and we are able to provide high quality patient care through our quality staff.

When you choose to become a nurse in Wales and work for Cwm Taf University Health Board, you are choosing to work within an organisation which displays the same level of care for its staff as it does for its patients.
