The Cwm Taf CAMH Service covers not only the Cwm Taf area but also Cardiff and Vale, Abertawe Bro Morgannwg and hosts a South Wales Inpatient unit and some all Wales services.

This is an exciting time for CAMHS within Wales with the injection of new Welsh Government funding for the development of specific services within CAMHS, including Crisis, First Episode Psychosis, Psychological therapies, Neuro-developmental services and Primary CAMHS. The Cwm Taf UHB Provider Network is also currently working towards the implementation of the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) in each of its localities.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will be supported to use your skills and expertise to the full, working as an integral part of the MDT, including nursing, psychology and therapists in various therapeutic modalities. The MDT provides an outpatient specialist CAMH service to children and adolescents up to their eighteenth birthday in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. The primary role will be to provide direct clinical input to young people and families, especially those whose mental health needs are particularly complex, and to support the other members of the MDT in relation to clinical management of complex cases.
