From the humble grommet insertion, that can completely transform a child’s educational and developmental trajectory, to the life-saving emergency tracheotomy, ENT is a specialty that involves the care of patients of all ages and requires a wide range of clinical and surgical skills.

Cwm Taf UHB’s ENT Department has five highly approachable Consultants and is nationally recognised for the quality of its teaching (ENT Wales Higher Surgical Trainees’ Training Centre of the Year 2014 and 2015). The Department undertakes almost all types of ENT surgery, from major oncological resections and reconstructions, through advanced rhinological and paranasal sinus surgery, to endoscopic otological surgery and a full range of paediatric procedures.

The Department’s practice is based in four hospitals across the UHB, local to both the beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park to the North and one of the UK’s cultural and sporting capitals, Cardiff, to the South. With >90% of our patients being elective cases, the out-of-hours workload is manageable and allows enjoyment of the region.

So, if you are looking for a varied surgical career, in a supportive, training-focussed Department, in an area of the UK that caters for both rural and metropolitan tastes, Cwm Taf ENT is for you!
